You know those people you meet and instantly connect with? The ones it feels like you’ve known your whole life? Well, Aimee Pitman is one of those people.
Aimee contacted me about photographing her new business venture Food is Life. (Darwin people look out for this baby, it’s going to be big!) I had recently moved from Darwin to Townsville but that didn’t stop her and I working together (planes and all). After the initial conversation about who, what, when, and where, we got busy organising, planning and locked in a week to photograph a portrait session and all of the delicious meals (Yes, I tasted them!).
It was a whirlwind, full on trip but I look back and smile whenever I think of it! We split the day in half, starting with a portrait session at one of my favourite spots in Darwin, Lee Point Beach.
Aimee had admitted to me that she was a bit nervous about the shoot but I promised we’d laugh, dance around but most importantly, that we’d have fun! True to my word, after we met, had a chat, I pulled out my phone and played Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake it off’! I mean, even if you hate the song, you can’t help but dance and sing along! It brought instant joy and a sense of calm and it set the tone of the whole day.
So now you know the back story, scroll through these beauties and tell me this girl is not a natural model.
